Our Mission
What is a non-profit organization without a mission? As a cat rescue based in Southeast Texas, we have our hands full with just trying to manage the steady influx of cats that pour from the woodworks every season. But that doesn’t mean that that is our only goal. While we may be floundering at times, we still strive to better ourselves. To better our community, and to improve the situation here in Southeast Texas. Here at Adopt Me Meow, our mission is:
To find loving homes for loose cats and to fight cat overpopulation in Southeast Texas.
This mission is our reason for being. It isn’t easy, but it’s important. And if it’s something you are interested in, you can help us! We are always in need of more fosters and volunteers!
Our Vision
Our vision is for the lives of cats and kittens throughout Southeast Texas to be dramatically improved in every aspect.
Our vision includes healthy and happy cats, with kind, educated, and considerate owners. Fully realized, this would mean an overabundance of cats who have full vetting and are spayed and neutered to help maintain the ideal levels of the population
Our vision includes an intimately low population of stray or unwanted cats. Fully realized, this would mean living with a need for the importation of unwanted cats from other areas, to fill the demand for wanted pets. This would not only improve the lives of the cats in our area, but also for cats in other districts nearby. This would also remove the status of “Kill Shelter” from any of our local shelters.
Our vision includes lower quantities of animal abuse or neglect cases throughout the area. Fully realized, this would mean a fully educated and empathetic human population throughout the area. It would also mean that cases of animal abuse and neglect would be thoroughly shamed, and not covered up.
Our Values
Our values are the foundation on which Adopt Me Meow was founded and how we strive to conduct our organization on a daily basis. Values establish our view of the world as we shape the future. They determine how we treat each other. Our values are:

It’s not easy, being a Cat Rescue in Southeast Texas. We are often overwhelmed with the number of cats that need help, with the more violent citizens in the area, and with the unfortunately low amount of resources at our disposal. But we still strive to be the best organization that we can be.
Despite the hardships, we strive to do good for our community. To live by our values and, when possible, spread those values to others in our community.
